04 The Shepherd’s Rod

Sung without instrumental accompaniment

THE SHEPHED’S ROD
(Sung to the music of “Ask Not To Be Excused” -Christ in Song, No. 513)

Hear ye The Shepherd’s Rod; ‘Twas sent in love from God From Heaven came a Voice That made us all rejoice- A message of good news, O may no one refuse To hear the Truth from God- His precious Shepherd’s Rod.

Chorus: Come, 0 come, The Shepherd’s Rod is here; Come, 0 come, rejoice in happy cheer; o Zion, rise and shine. “Arise and fall in line” Is reformation’s sign, The Shepherd’s Rod Divine.

His promise evermore The Kingdom to restore! o may we soon go home, No more the world to roam We long for that sweet rest Where all the saints are blest, Where righteousness will reign: All glory to His name!

Chorus: Come, 0 come, The Shepherd’s Rod is here; Come, 0 come, rejoice in happy cheer; o Zion, rise and shine. “Arise and fall in line” Is reformation’s sign, The Shepherd’s Rod Divine.

Redemption’s song we’ll sing, And make salvation ring!
For in the Promised Land, On Zion’s mount we’ll stand With our sins washed away- O happy golden day!
So praise be to our God, He sent The Shepherd’s Rod!

Chorus: Come, 0 come, The Shepherd’s Rod is here; Come, 0 come, rejoice in happy cheer; o Zion, rise and shine. “Arise and fall in line” Is reformation’s sign, The Shepherd’s Rod Divine.
