DAVIDIAN, BATTLE CRY
(Sung to the music of “Sound the Battle Cry“ The Church Hymnal, No. 499)

Sound the Battle Cry, see! the foe is nigh; Ready to destroy Leah’s seed.
We are few and small, but the Lord of all Shall protect us as we heed His ROD.

Chorus: Rouse now, soldiers, rally round the ROD, Ready, steady, spread the word abroad; Onward, forward, we are Leah’s children; Christ is leading, let’s exalt His ROD.

Bashan’s printing press, Workers at the desk, Hunters in the field-all on fire. When the battle’s won, And the Kingdom’s come, May all hear the words “Faithful, well done!”

Chorus: Rouse now, soldiers, rally round the ROD, Ready, steady, spread the word abroad; Onward, forward, we are Leah’s children; Christ is leading, let’s exalt His ROD.

We need never fear, Christ is ever near, Ready to defend All His saints.
Let us never doubt That He’ll bring us out More than conquerors In the end.

Chorus: Rouse now, soldiers, rally round the ROD, Ready, steady, spread the word abroad; Onward, forward, we are Leah’s children; Christ is leading, let’s exalt His ROD.
